RCAN Ukraine statement

RCAN stands with Ukraine. We are devastated by the situation unfolding and condemn in the strongest terms the Russian authorities’ unprovoked aggression on Ukraine. Our network has many members, colleagues, close friends and family for whom Ukraine is or has been home, or has been an overwhelmingly generous and welcoming home-from-home on visits there. Many of them remain in Ukraine today fighting and doing what they can to survive. Many more have been forced to leave their homes in order to escape the fighting. We will do whatever we can to support them, and continue to wish for a peaceful resolution to these very dark times.

Our aim has always been and remains to promote the exchange of knowledge, skills, experience and the development of mutually supportive relationships in the international arbitration community across the region. We believe this is as vital now as ever.

RCAN remains committed to promoting the rule of law and the peaceful settlement of disputes in the region.

Many of you will have seen the links below but we are sharing them again and encourage you to consider giving what you can. RCAN will itself be donating.

Crucially, if you or those you know have space to house Ukrainians seeking safety outside Ukraine, please get in touch (rcan-updates@outlook.com) and we will connect you with colleagues maintaining a database and helping people find places to stay.
