ICDR Y&I event in New York City: “Arbitration Related to Russia and the CIS: How to Not Get Lost in the Siberian Woods”

Following an introduction from Rupert D’Cruz (Littleton Chambers) representatives of RCAN were invited to attend the International Centre for Dispute Resolution’s Young and International event in New York.

The event consisted of a panel discussion concerning:

(i) working with clients from Russia & CIS: Things to keep in mind and approach differences;

(ii) encountering counsel from Russia & CIS: Legal culture and ethics differences; and

(iii) use of court proceedings in support of arbitral proceedings with Russian parties.

The speakers were Laura Hardin (FTI Consulting), Peter Pettibone (US-Russia Business Counsel, Hogan & Hartson LLP), Laurence Shore (Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP) and Julia Zagonek (White & Case LLP).  Anna Kozmenko of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP moderated the discussion.
